Description
Crispy, flavorful sweet potato chips made quickly in the air fryer—perfect for dipping, snacking, or serving as a healthy side.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 medium sweet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
Optional Seasonings
- paprika
- garlic powder
- chili powder
- cinnamon sugar (for sweet variation)
Instructions
- Prepare the sweet potatoes: Wash and peel the sweet potatoes if desired. Using a mandolin slicer or a sharp knife, slice the sweet potatoes thinly and evenly to ensure uniform cooking.
- Season the slices: In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil, salt, and any optional seasonings you prefer such as paprika, garlic powder, or chili powder to add extra flavor.
- Arrange in air fryer: Place the seasoned sweet potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket to prevent overcrowding, which ensures they cook evenly and get crispy.
- Air fry the chips: Cook the sweet potato slices at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 12 minutes. Halfway through cooking, carefully flip the slices to enable both sides to crisp up nicely.
- Cool and serve: After cooking, remove the chips from the air fryer and allow them to cool for about 2 minutes. This resting time helps them crisp further before serving.
Notes
- Use a mandolin slicer for thin, uniform slices to achieve even crispiness.
- Air fry in batches to avoid overcrowding the basket, which can result in soggy chips.
- Try sprinkling cinnamon sugar on your chips for a delicious sweet version.
